Mr. Pong

I am having a tricky time with Picasa, because it doesn't let me publish more than four pictures to my blog at a time. But really - these pictures are all connected. It is all about the people.

Making fried dough Chinese Style. Note the 18" chopsticks.

Cutting the dough.

He streched the dough and placed it in the boiling oil with his bare hands.

Delicious! Brad, (left of Tammy) visited Pong every morning for a week. He was so happy to see Brad when he brought the rest of us with. On the last day, he was saying "You and I friends" and showing us how sad he was that Brad was leaving. We dropped off a copy of this picture on the last day and it really was so beautiful...

Say what you want about the Chinese government, but the people we came in contact with on our own in the streets were kind and gracious (although they did try and charge us 30 RMB for something worth 2, but that is what capitalism is all about, so can we really blame them?)
