Thank you, Casmir Pulaski!

There are scads of benefits to living in Chicagoland, but one of the lesser-known to the outside world is the celebration of Casmir Pulaski Day - and like all good holidays, Casmir Pulaski = day off school. This year we got to go to Kyle and Jenny's. I can't even tell you how good the good stuff was.

Smile for the camera! T with the newest cousin.

One of the benefits of having a REALLY tall cousin is that you can do REALLY fun tricks on the ice.

Kyle and Jenny, with direction from Saige, built Clara the snowgirl at the bottom of a sledding hill. Check out her hair - it is about as crazy as Saige's.

There was a lot of time for building stuff with dominoes, playing games, baking cookies, and other stuff that we don't get enough of at home.

We all found time to do some reading. Of course, Green Eggs and Ham came after a few well-selected issues of Reader's Digest for gairette.

Hey!!! We're having fun!

p.s. Casmir Pulaski was a Polish nobleman who had been trained in the military. He came to the U.S. during the Revolutionary War to train troops, and provided money for the Revolution from his own fortune. That is worth a day off in February, right?
