Traditions!

Uncle Gladdy has been the director of Sparks since it began, which was when Tammy (37 and a mother of an almost 7th grader) was either in kindergarten or 1st grade. One of the very best Sparks traditions that he started is the giant banana split on the second to last night. So, for all you old Sparkies, here is a walk down memory lane.

You need to know that it wasn't "look like a tourist night." I know the shirt came from his closet, but the hat??? Good thing we don't love him for his fashion sense! For those of you who don't know him, Uncle Gladdy (yes, it is his real name) is always good for a smile, and the more razzing he gets, the better.

Kendell is getting tempted...

Unlike Kendell, Saige just isn't the dig-in type. She is very ladylike even when faced with ice cream!

This has nothing to do with the giant sundae. Just gairette and her buddies.

yummy! we were very excited to see the ice cream sundae night. I always loved the "first-timers" reaction to the enormous sundae. my girls thought their poppa was very funny in his shirt and hat.

so delicious! but i thought that tradition was banned because of "sanitary" issues!? maybe at my dad's 60th birthday party we should have a huge banana split and a huge banana bread!

No ban, just separate bowls for a few.

Brae loved the giant banana split even though the whole week prior she kept saying, "I don't want to eat out of the same bowl as everyone else. GROSS!" She joined in :)
