Stretching out. The guys at the left and right are B & Sky's friends from church who also ran. T and Sky were just spectators this time, but both of them are talking about doing the next race - especially T when she heard that the first girl in 14 and under took 30 minutes to run the course. She thinks she could do better with some more training.
At the start of the half marathon which was also being run. We were already planning about how we were going to cheer for our cousin Jenny in the Chicago Marathon in a few weeks.
Brixton crossing the finish line. He came in 55th overall (out of 1600), the 48th male, and 3rd in his age group - just 11 seconds behind first - too bad for those big group starts, because we are sure he could have gotten first. Just knowing that makes me proud as can be. I was cheering like crazy!
After the race we headed to Grandma's for a family dinner - something we haven't done in a long time with other people there. Roast beef, mashed potatoes, and rice pudding - and you all missed it. Afterwards the big kids went downstairs to watch TV, the grown-ups took naps, and the middle and little kids played on Gram's back porch - just like old times.
Just one more...

Hooray for dinner at Grandma's house. I have been thinking about making her rice pudding, but did not think that eating a whole recipe by myself would be very smart!
